Hi. I'm John.

I have been DJing in New England for about twenty years. Weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, school functions, and a long stretch of bar and club residencies.

These days most of my calendar is weddings, and I take those through my company, Elation Entertainment. One DJ, start to finish. The person you meet on the first call is the person behind the booth on the night.

Chapter one

Where this started

Nobody sets out to be a wedding DJ. You start because you like music more than is reasonable, you get handed a room, and it turns out you can read it.

Bars, clubs, and school gyms

Twenty years across weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, school functions, and bar and club residencies. A residency teaches you something a wedding cannot: the same room, the same night of the week, for months, with nobody obligated to stay.

You learn to read a floor quickly, and you learn that the crowd is never wrong.

Chapter three

Weddings, and starting Elation

I started Elation Entertainment in 2018 to do weddings properly. It is one person by design. I take somewhere around twenty five to thirty weddings a year, which is the number that lets me plan each one like it is the only one on the calendar.

No associates, no roster, no hand-offs. I am based in Shirley, Massachusetts and I work across about a hundred and twenty miles of New England from there.

Chapter four

I build the software other DJs use.

This is the part that makes me a strange wedding DJ. When the library management I needed did not exist, I wrote it. Now other DJs run it.

So that's me.
